I do believe that an accident at a nuclear power plant has more destructive potential than even a tanker truck collision. Thus, nuclear plants do need to be operated by trained professionals who are suited to the task - not randomly selected from the driving public. The most important thing, I think, is the quality and dedication of the management - we don't want the Tosco refinery people making the key decisions here. At this time I'm not so sure we want top PG&E management making these decisions, either.
