Don't look under San Francisco. $90 a night is really cheap for
a motel in The City. Here are some places you might check if you
are looking in Oakland; Oakland itself, Berkeley, El Cerrito, San
Leandro, Hayward, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Concord. From
personal experience, I can recommend the Travel Inn in El Cerrito,
the Motel 6 in Walnut Creek, and the Oakland Airport Hampton Inn.
I don't know what their rares are, but all of these are either
within walking distance of BART or have frequent bus service to
BART. This is important, since BART centers on Oakland and
anywhere you stay the traffic is miserable.
