Online Wells Fargo vs Golden1 and credit cards

I have online banking and I was thinking about getting a Wells Fargo Credit
card so I could have access to a Visa or MC through Quicken or MSMoney98 and
through the bank's website. I searched http://www.wellsfargo.com and could
not find any info about the annual fees or interest rates. The site says you
get the first year free, but does not say _what_ the fees are after that. I
called the 800 number and was told the fees range from $18 to $45 for a gold
card. I asked if there are any no anual fee cards and she said there may be a
way to get the fee waived, but I could not find out if I qualified for fee
waiver until I applied and was approved for a card. That is not acceptable.
Does anyone know what the criteria is? What minimum balance or what else they
use to detrmine the eligibility for no annual fees on their cards? I am
turned off to getting an account through them now, but I am still considering
it.

I have accounts through several credit unions, but the only one with meaniful
online access is Golden1. They have a Gold Visa with 13.5% APR, no annual fee
and a 1% rebate for all purchases.
http://www.golden1.com/html/news_article_9.html That sounds very good, but
they are not linked through Quicken or MSMoney, so I would have to do all my
online banking and bill paying via their website and manually download the
statements into Quicken. This is not as convenient as using Wells Fargo
though. Wells Fargo has alot more ATMs available, but since I could get cash
back with purchases at any supermarket, I don't thing it would be that big of
a deal. Golden1 does not charge any fees for using another ATM, but Wells
Fargo does. Wells Fargo does have live phone support 24 hours which is a nice
feature though (but you can only call 3 times in a month or they charge you
for it).
