Dixon, California, has much to offer in addition to its annual Lamb
Festival. There is a restaurant there called George's Orange, which
serves some pretty good Mexican food.

Also, many years ago a group of resident computer techies, led by
fellow-techie and artist Robert Armstrong, started a rag tag organization
called the Couch Potatoes. The men wore T-shirts with a happily reclining
potato decked out on an over-stuffed sofa. The women were called couch
tomatoes and wore T-shirts with a very pretty tomato picture and "Get It
Yourself!" emblazoned across the front. They put out a very nice
newsletter called "The Tuber Voice."

The house (Armstrong's?) where they held their meetings was scattered
with old television sets...some of which actually worked. The members
wore these strange high red and gold hats with a tassel attached. They
always reminded me of those hats that Oliver and Hardy wore to their Sons
of the Desert meetings.
