They dozed almost the whole length, and it still is rutted and
uneven in places, a few years back they brought in a tractor and dozed
a popular riding/jumping area that horse riders would'nt even want
to ride on. Well two days later the mess was moved by some riders with
shovels, and bare hands, new ramps and trails were build soon after.
This sport is a passion, and it won't be stopped, but I hate having to
decide to stay or go when I see a ranger, always wondering if he wants
to give me that $96 ticket. I would rather stay and talk with him, like I
do when cornered or in an akward situation, most are cool and give a
warning. These are the ones that usually agree with my arguments...
This town is far too conservative when it comes to issues like this.
Multi use trails work all over the US except here...Hmmmmmmm
The very few times I do see a horse its only common sense to pull
to the side, a horse can kill you.
Some teenagers pay no attention, I'll agree with that, but
punish them, not me. I wait for hikers and horses.
Hell, most of the time people smile, if I see them at all...
Would people rather have kids running the streets or out on their bikes,
or swing from a rope into the river.
Believe it or not it is also illegal to put up a rope swing, give me a break.
Some rangers argue the county would be liable for injury.
My ass, I would like to see proof of some idiot winning
a rope swing case against the county.
Thanks for the feedback Patrick,
-Duane
