Talking to a mach 8 airplane

Okay, let's assume that there is a manned mach 8 airplane( It certainly
seems to be true) Wouldn't there be a problem getting radio messages
through the ionized air that would form around it at those speeds?
Or is mach 8 not fast enough for such problems to occur?

I used to wonder how they got guidance information through to the
extremely fast Sprint ABM's. I can recall pictures of them being
surrounded by an envelope of incandescent air as they streaked up through
the atmosphere during tests. Surely they must have had to transmit
course correction data to them, no?

During reentry too. I recall NASA Select mentioning that TDRSS
can relay the signal all the way down since there are S-band
antennas on the orbiter's top side which is not as blocked as
the bottom.

If I remember correctly, mission controll in houston can communicate
with and recieve telemetery from the space shuttle shuttle during
launch. Escape velocity is about Mach 25.

The shuttle can be communicated with at all points during its mission, except
for a period during re-entry when the air around it becomes ionized by the
heat being generated by the friction encountered by the shuttle. Just thought
I'd add my two cents' worth.
