I would just like to say that thanks to the people that responded, I've chosen what I feel is the most humane method of doing away with my fish, who was obviously far beyond help. It has been suggested that this topic be dealt with in the FAQ, which I think is a good idea. The most popular suggestion I received was to freeze the fish, and thereby slow down his metabolic rate to nil. This is what I chose to go with, and I would like to thank my mother for doing the actual "dirty work" while I was at class. As well, thanks to the following people who mailed me or posted their suggestions: Robert Barley, Kevin Kuehl, Jill Nicolaus, Paul Prior, and someone simply known as Matt. Thanks again for minimizing the suffering of my favorite fish! Alison Sherwood 2nd year Marine Biology Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia sherwood@ug.cs.dal.ca
