Donald, thanks for the comments on DEC's plans for VMS/OpenVMS. Another person pointed out the URL http://www.openvms.digital.com/ as a source of information about DEC's OpenVMS plans. None of this really has any bearing on our short term plans for IRAF support for OpenVMS. Currently we provide OSF1/IRAF V2.10.4 for the Alpha, and full support for OpenVMS is planned for IRAF V2.11, when we upgrade all platforms. In the interim a preliminary port of IRAF to OpenVMS is available from STScI. Near term IRAF system development emphasizes projects other than platform support, except for the (UNIX based) PC-IRAF effort which is still in progress. - Doug -- Doug Tody National Optical Astronomy Observatories IRAF project tody@noao.edu P.O.
