The meaning of the Sphinx build over 12 000 years ago, like the Pyramids, is
a marker of the time of the Great Catastrophe which nearly destroyed the
whole of Humanity.
It says :

This is the meaning indeed of the Man and the Lion 's body.
... and when was the Vernal point in the Lion constellation may I ask you ?
You may work it out yourself and since we are now in the Aquarius, before
that we had Fish, Ram, Bull, Gemini, Cancer & then Lion Era ! ... and when
you do the simple computing you come up to the 12 000 years indeed.
( that value found everywhere in the world ( Mayas, Aztec; Quiche, Incas )
and discovered by the outstanding works of Ethnologists RP Brasseur de
Bourbourg, General Boulanger, Maspero, Enel, De Humbolt, de Quatrefages etc
( all works in my library indeed )

You said it suffered water erosion ? This is nearly exact but slightly off
the mark !
Why ?

The sea water which brought the Sands of Egypt, Lybia, Sahara ... Kalahari,
Gobi, Takla Makan etc and which the Fraudulent Geology sees there as the
Missoula flood and elsewhere as the Black Sea flood etc , was indeed a world
wide event. It was the result of the Earth stopped dead in its rotation by
the MOON impact 11700 years ago, but as well the resultant of the De
Corioalis forces applied over the water bodies ! leading then to the
Cyclonic Granulometric Pattern of Pleistocene Sedimentation ' ( concept
proper to the True Geology ) which any True Geologist can observe now all
over the world indeed !

The weathering was not produced by the sea but by the sand / stones flying
by at 400 km / h during the height of the Turmoil ! As you many note indeed,
the Sphinx weathering does not affect all the faces but only two mainly.
This is incidentally what the Oxford fools ( Buckland, Agassiz ) have seen
as Glacial scratches and what the other present fools masquerading as
Geologists see likewise !

I will discuss that event at length if you wish,  since this catastrophe is
indeed at the basis of what that miserable Sci000nce & indeed Osford based
Geology sees as Glaciations
