I'm planning a stargazing night the weekend of August 13-14 which will include ( if we're lucky ) some meteors from the Perseids whose peak is in August 11-12. The question is: Does anybody know of any good place where this can be done in Southern Cal ? It should be accessible by car, pretty clear at night and available to camping. Would the desert be too clod at night this time of the year ? Also if there's the chance to do some hikes in the daytime it would be an added plus to the whole trip. How about Joshua Tree ? Any ideas about this place ? Thanks in advance for any response. e-mail is best !! Luigi Manna-- manna@usc.edu
