As far as the Observatory is concerned, I can tell you for certain that
it was not touched nor threatened.  I run by the Observatory every
day on my way to the top of Mount Hollywood, and it was a very peaceful
place to be during the rioting.  The view, which is often smog-obscured,
was even worse than usual however, because of the smoke.
