			  DR. DAVID CRAWFORD

	Emeritus Professor, National Astronomical Observatory
	Executive Director, International Dark-Sky Association

The Friday night presentation is in the large auditorium in OSU Smith
Lab, 142 West 18th Street, on the OSU campus. This is the same
building which houses the Department of Physics and Astronomy. There
is no charge for the talk and plenty of room for everyone who wishes
to attend. Parking is available in the area on campus, including the
Ohio Union Garage on High St.

Dr. Crawford will also speak at the regular Columbus Astronomical
Society meeting Saturday night. Visitors are welcome. However, we are
encouraging the general public to go to OSU Friday night because of
larger seating capacity and easier access. (CAS information is at
http://www.fpi-protostar.com/cas/.)

Dr. Crawford is Emeritus Professor of Astronomy at the National
Astronomical Observatory at Kitt Peak where he has been a scientist
for 36 years. For the past 15 years he has been the volunteer
Executive Director of the International Dark-Sky Association, renowned
for innovative and relentless efforts to reduce light pollution. He
has given over a thousand talks internationally on light pollution,
and is one of the foremost authorities on lighting fixtures and
astronomy.

Let's learn all we can from him while he is in Ohio so we can
influence people to control light pollution, and save money, energy,
and the beauty and science of the night sky.

Yours Truly,

John Hartman
