Hello, for my dissertation on melastome systematics I need seeds of African Melastomataceae to rise plants in the greenhouse. If anyone could send me any seeds I would appreciate very much. Silica dried (or freezed) leaves I would also accept. The family is recognized by its leaf venation (three or more pairs of primary veins run parallel to the leaf margins from the base to the tip) and the stamens which open by terminal pores. For pictures (of non-African species) look at http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/faculty/carr/fpfamilies.htm; gopher://wiscinfo.wisc.edu:2070/11/.image/.bot/.401/Flowering_Plants/Dicots/Melastomataceae; or http://www.nmnh.si.edu/botart/melagen.htm I need material of any of the following African genera: Amphorocalyx, Antherotoma, Cailliella, Dinophora, Dionychastrum, Guyonia, Heterotis, Melastomastrum, Nerophila, Pseudosbeckia, Tristemma.
