As an undergraduate (1988), I was a field assistant for the Weed Control
Technology Team, Corps of ENgineers Research Station in Vicksburg
Mississippi. Evidently the C of E has many problems with aquatic weed
management in the waterways they manage (man-made, shallow, warm water =
big loads of exotic weeds).

Anyway, I helped in research efforts on Water Hyacinth, milfoil, and
Hydrilla verticillata. I would try to do a lit search w/ the US Corps of
Engineers. Good luck,
