   I am looking for ideas/references on good ways to do the following:
I need to kill off (ablate) groups of cells in the early
(gastrulation) chick embryo. The embryo is in culture, so access to
the cells is not a problem. What are some ways (besides surgery) to
get rid of a particular group of cells? One thing I have done already
is to label the cells with DiI. Can some sort of photo-treatment be
used afterwards to kill off only cells that got it? What else have
people used? Please email mlevin@husc7.harvard.edu with any ideas.
