My name is Julian So. I'm a microbiology and immunology major at McGill.
I've been assigned the topic "phage conversion of host cell surfaces"
for my term paper. I've talked to my supervisor and done a preliminary
search on medline and stuph, but it's been kind of tough to find stuph
so far. I've been told to look at Salmonella E14 or 15, rex of lambda phage,
Pseudomonas phiD3 and Mike McConnell's wrok, but it really hasn't been
helpful. If anyone has any pointers on the subject or is an expert in the
field or is familiar w/ McConnell's work (my search turned up several
M McConells, none of which have authored papers to do with my topic), I'd
appreciate hearing from y'all.

Also, I'm vaguely aware that certain phage infected bacteria produce
toxins that are inimical to humans ... this may or may not have anything
to do w/ my topic (do the phages cause production of a lipid A like
substance on the cell surface or is it a soluble compound?), but i'd like
to know about it anyway.

Note that this is being posted from a friend's acct. Although mail here
would be ok, i check my own accts more often. The addresses are:
B7O2@musicb.mcgill.ca or
slash@sizone.pci.on.ca
note that the "O" is an "oh" as opposed to a "zero". this has caused some
bounced mail shits in the past.

Thanx in advance
Julian
