Hi all, I was just watching _Journey to Kilimanjaro_ on one of the local PBS stations. The claim was made in the show that the hairs in the ears of the serval cat "filtered out" wind-in-the-grass noises so that the cat could listen for its prey more intently. This sounds a little strange to me. Is it true? If so, who proved it, and how? Thanks, Daniel -- ===============It's more fun if you spell it with a "K"!========== Daniel Wendel \ Slightly Mad Fly Biologist \ Lab phone: 581-2612 email: dpw8960@u.cc.utah.edu -or- c-wdp@math.utah.edu ===============Disclaimer: "It's not my _fault_!"================
