This is an announcement regarding the formation of a new newsgroup. If you or
you know of anyone who might be interested in participating in this group,
feel free to pass this information along to anyone who might be interested.

ALT.BIO.MINORITY
Charter:
This group was formed to allow minority scientists, who are involved in
biomedical research, a forum where they can interact with other minority
scientists and students to discuss issues that are pertinent to minority
scientists and students.
Objectives:
1. Encourage networking amongst minority scientists and students, which will
provide a support system for minority scientists and students.
2. Allow minority science students to have access to minority mentors, who will
act as role models.
3. Provide information regarding :
a. research opportunities.
b. postdoctoral/faculty positions
c. funding information
d. graduate school information.
