THE HUMAN WILDLIFE PROJECT
(second article)
We are planning a project where we want to spend a year living from
nature.
We will collect data on how much we eat, what we eat, how do we catch
it, and how we are doing as a group.
We will hunt and fish, but are not yet decided what weapons we should
use, or whether we should make our own weapons.
Most of all, we will collect plants to eat.
We will start the project in spring 1998, and stay in the forest to the
spring of 1999. By 1998, some of us will have science-degrees.
Odin Tellesboe, who took the initiative to the project is now studying
biology at the University of Oslo, and will by the start of the project
be a graduate student.
Kjetil Kjernsmo is a physics-student at the University of Oslo, but is
interested in ecology, the interaction between species.
We are interested in any kind of experiment that we can conduct during
the project. Experiments in medicine, pharmacy, zoology, botanic,
equipment and weapons that require long-term intensive testing, and
other biological experiments.
We have made an WWW-homepage for the project. The URL is:
http://www.ifi.uio.no/~kjetikj/HumanWild/
We also need help in finding an area for the project, in some newsgroups
see subject: "Help us finding area for scientific project".
Please spread this article to anybody you think may have interest in it.
We are now asking the net to set up experiments that would be interesting
in an situation where people are living from the nature, without
interference from modern life.
Please answer by mail to kjetikj@ifi.uio.no or if you like to discuss,
post follow-ups to sci.bio or sci.med (hope I won't get fried for the
cross-posting :-))
