Hello,

A friend of mine is seeking for a sponsor for a biology project. This
biology project investigates the causes of plasma loss in microgravity
(an abstract follows this paragraph). My friend is a high school
senior who plans to major in Biology or related areas in college. She
has an extensive amount of knowledge in Biology and Veterinary science.
She currently holds a research position in Biology in the industry, and
her experimental proposal was awarded as one of the finest in the regional
science and humanities symposium. If you are interesting in sponsoring
her or helping her, please email me at benjie@oes.amdahl.com or call me
at (408)7468414. Thanks!!!

Sincerely,

Benjie

Abstract and Proposal of the Experiment

In many references, the authors state that it has been "hypothesized"
that the aortic and carotid baroreceptors are responsible for plasma
loss in microgravity. (The increased upper body fluid volume
stretches the carotid and aortic baroreceptors which in turn send
signals to the brain to inhibit the release of the anti-diuretic
hormone (ADH). ADH is the hormone that increases the fluid absorption
capabilities of the kidney.) This, to my knowledge, is still a
hypothesis. This experiment could either prove or disprove this
hypothesis. By disproving the statement, many prior research papers
based upon this assumption would have to be revisited. By confirming
the statement, scientists can rest assured that they are not making
too much of an assumption in their experiments.

This experiment will involve the use of rats, osmometers and different
injection techniques.
