Hi, does anybody know, where I can get a piece of solid magnesium (Mg). I've been to several chemist's shops, but I haven't found some solid Mg. I should have it for a electochemical test. Thanks for each answer. -- E-mail: nhhlem@ascom.ch

At boating shops Mg chunks might be available. It is, along with Al and Zn used for galvanic corrosion protection of ship hulls. In the city I live I saw it in a boating shop in which I was looking for propane gas valves. NOTE: Be *very careful* with fire ! When it burns, it CANNOT be extinguished with water ! Use sand instead. Klaas
