OK, what follows is a shameless plug for a small Mac application
I wrote that calculates the weigthed or unweigthed  slope,
intercept and the errors about some straight line xy data.
It has a spreadsheet type interface that allows for in cell manipluation
of the x y and weigthed y data. Extra long numbers can be manipulated
in the cell. Upto approx 30 digits per number are acceptable.
The linear regression algorithym is based on the text and equations
in "Numerical Analysis". 
Version one is available for ftp at Sumex, Umich, and other mirrors.

Version two will be available in about 10 days, and should be a 
much better version, but if you want to have a look at it then
you are most welcome.
I'd appreciate any comments for extra functions that could be implemented 
in version 2. Basic graphs are already implemented but other ideas are most
welcome.
