			   Summer Scholarships

The IPRL is an internationally recognised leader in the field of Intelligent 
Polymer Research.  The research activities are multidiscipline with projects 
including synthetic organic chemistry, polymer processing and characterisation
including adhesive and mechanical properties and applications in sensing, 
separations technologies, controlled release and electromechanical actuators.  
Excellent research facilities are available at the University of Wollongong 
Campus and several positions will be available as part of our strategic 
alliance with CSIRO Division of Chemicals and Polymers in Melbourne.

The IPRL will offer a number of Summer Scholarships for the 1997 Summer 
Period.  Applicants should preferably be completing on Honours Year in 1996 
and be available to commence the 8 week scholarship from January 2nd.  A 
literature package will be sent to successful applicants in early December.

Scholarship Stipend: $250 per week 8 weeks
Travel Allowance (for students outside Wollongong area) - $1,000.
