	If you have a permanent job after completing your postdoc you
are one of the lucky minority.  Most of the people that I did postdocs
with are working in temporary positions and have to change these
fairly often as the grant money runs out.  So you end up moving around
the country like a migrant worker.  And those are the LUCKY ones; many
scientists that I knew as postdocs or junior faculty have been
unemployed often, or working at whatever they could find to support
themselves.  One postdoc I knew was substitute teaching in the local
schools last I heard.
