To set up a seminar I have to collect literature on the question: "In what ways is it *useful* to think of the mind as a computer", written by people roughly opposed to the position taken in John Searle's new book --- i.e. by people who think that it is useful to do so. I'd be grateful for references --- please email directly to D.M.Peterson@cs.bham.ac.uk as well as posting to the net. Donald Peterson.
