There are many books that have agendas they do not make explicit. The
authors may not realize what they are actually arguing about.  What is
more likely is that they call the concept in question by some other
name.  I just translated.  In Skinner's case he called his book
"Beyond Freedom and Dignity" and used words like freedom.  In
Chomsky's case I believe he prefers "creative".

Careful reading and explication is usually consider literary
criticism. There is no reason not to apply to it to quasi-scientific
books and articles like those of Skinner and Chomsky.
