I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and actually started writing something a couple years ago but didn't get far. I've thought about it specifically as a teaching tool. I think you could make a really nice program for teaching concepts in neurobiology using an object-oriented paradigm. Currently I'm finishing up an ecology teaching program along the same lines (granted, ecology and neurobiology don't have much to do with each other right now, but teaching is maybe a little similar across disciplines). I don't know if you were thinking about teaching or research (and they're not mutually exclusive of course), and my level of modelling is probably not as sophisticated as yours, but I'd be willing to share my ideas if you're interested.
