Another example of silly rules. F-PROT or the > McAfee suite of programs cannot be exported under these rules (F-PROT > originates in Iceland, so the author does not care about these US > rules) but CPAV, NAV and Untouchable can be exported. Could you please provide the exact quotations that rule out the anti-virus software exports as illegal? Maybe it would be a good idea to cross-post to comp.virus too... As to the export of "big" packages regardless the restrictions, well we have here a perfectly legally bought copy of Norton Utilities 6.01, which includes DES encryption of the hard disk and bears the sticker "Not for export"... :-) Regards, Vesselin -- Vesselin Vladimirov Bontchev Virus Test Center, University of Hamburg Tel.:+49-40-54715-224, Fax: +49-40-54715-226 Fachbereich Informatik - AGN < PGP 2.1 public key available on request. > Vogt-Koelln-Strasse 30, rm. 107 C e-mail: bontchev@fbihh.informatik.uni-hamburg.de D-2000 Hamburg 54, Germany
