M/A-COM and the magazine quoted are full of shit. The US constitution defines treason as giving "aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war". The United States has not declared war in over forty years. Until such time as war is declared (on someone besides "drug abuse" :-), it is IMPOSSIBLE to commit treason. OK, so this isn't cryptographic.
