"Security of Data in Networks" by Peter J. Denning, p. 12-14. in the
Jan-Feb '87 issue of the American Scientist (journal of the society
of the sigma xi) discusses the elements of RSA, the ways in which a
public key system meets needs, and a little about key distribution
and gives a few references.  It is intended to be readable by people
in a wide variety of disciplines.
