This is my third and final Call for Addresses of Crypto/Security Companies
enhanced by a 'State of the Art' report (see below).

First the replay:

---<start>---<2nd REPLAY of the CALL FOR ADDRESSES>------------------------

I

 - am looking for addresses of crypto/security companies and lists of
   their products.

 - define a "crypto/security company" as a company which produces
hard/software implementing cryptographic or security related
algorithms for any kind of application.

 - am ready to maintain a list of the addresses I get (if there is
interest at all) and post it in some of the security-related
newsgroups, if the companies allow me to do so.

 - will contact each of the companies and ask them for their
permission to add their address to this list.

Please send answers via email to

  michaelp@terpi.informatik.rwth-aachen.de

Thanks a lot in advance
Michael Portz

---<end>-----<2nd REPLAY of the CALL FOR ADDRESSES>------------------------

So far 15 responses reached me via email and 1 via fax. Of these actually
3 were requests for the final list. I got the same number of addresses
from scanning a single ???? of the german security magazine 'KES'.

I THINK WE ALL CAN DO A LITTLE BETTER!

:-)

Below is a survey over the companies which are already IN the list.

Mobius Encryption Technologies Ontario Canada
Anagram Laboratories Palo Alto USA
Datotek Incorporated Dallas USA
Dolphin Software USA
Shamus Software Ltd Dublin Ireland
Airtech Computer Security Brighton GB
Gemplus Card International France
DynaSoft Stockholm Sweden
Uptronics Incorporated San Jose USA
AccessData Lindon USA
Ericcson Semafor Kolbjoernsvik Norway
Security Dynamics Cambridge USA
Cylink Sunnyvale USA
Racal Guardata Herndon USA *
Computer Elektronik Infosys Bodenheim Germany
Concord-Eracom Wildberg Germany *
FAST Electronic Muenchen Germany *
Gliss&Herweg Frechen Germany
KryptoKom Aachen Germany
CCI Meppen Germany

The * means, that these are only the german branches of some international
company.

You see that there are hardly any big companies (IBM, AT&T, Siemens,
Bull,...) in the list. Of course I know, that e.g. a letter with

 IBM, Yorktown Heights, USA

or

 Siemens, Munich, Germany

on it will SOMEday reach the right person, but I would like to have it
a little bit more precise.

After 2-3 weeks of more waiting I will start posting the list in on of
the 'low noise' groups with pointers to this list in all the other groups.
Moreover, I plan to make this list available - perhaps in a 'tuned'
version - via WWW.

Thanks a lot again for you cooperation

Michael
