My "site" knows me pretty darn well.  They have issued me with a
id card with photo and mag stripe to enter the building.  They
provided this on production of my passport.  In security terms,
they "know" me.

It doesn't have to be your site admin.   Anybody that I trust, 
who can vouch for your identity (and your key) will do.

It's not.  We still need face to face meetings.  Just much less
of them.  Making this type of solution more scalable to a large
community of users.
