As if in this day and age a country could snatch territory away from another country. Such "reconquista" rhetoric is used as a pretext by people who support illegal immigration (and I am not one of them), as simple as that. As to your historical reference of enemies of the US offering Mexico territory in exchange for our support, I'm aware that it happened during WWI (Zimmermann telegram incident), but I'm not aware of any other case. Care to enlighten me? And I hope you don't mention WWII, because you may not know this, but Mexico fought alongside the US in the Pacific theater (Mexico sent an air squadron as a simbolic measure after a Mexican tanker was sunk by a German Uboat). Didn't make a difference of course, but it showed on which side we where.
