And what make you believe that this time will be that different ?
I assume this it was the plan actually.

Give tax cuts and another gifts how long the dollar has been artificially
kept high by unsuspecting Chinese & others. This money has already been
invested offshore and by this 2 goals achieved:
- buy wealth that will not be affected by a dollar collapse
- protect their investments from a possible US people reactions
  when the economy tank

Once the economy melt and is obvious that US will not be able to pay the
due, everybody start selling dollars and the dollar collapse.
Simultaneously with the dollar, the price of land and other US assets
drop(not as big as the dollar value but will). The US wages are going to
settle at a level that they are competitive with Chinese, and by collapsing
wages the life level in US will reach the third world countries level too.

At that point, desperate people will be eager to sell whatever they have for
food. The multinational corporations can buy now cheaper land and houses.
From a nation with a majority of homeowners, US will become a nation where a
majority of the population is simultaneously a renter and a serf for a
superrich landlord.

Welcome to the neofeudalism !!! This is the dream pursued by the supporters
of so called free market, neocnos and libertarians.
