I cannot find any significant evidence that they are, just a lot of superficial disagreements. It seems pretty obvious we are being played for suckers when the democrats spend about 5 years demanding clinton bring about regime change in Iraq and then the moment a suitable excuse arises the republicans go and do exactly that. Same with illegal immigration, only the people are hurt by it. Not the republicrats and their money sources, not the government. They are helped by it so nothing of value is ever done about it until people do it themselves. A bunch of guys sitting in lawn chairs watching the border were pretty damn effective. What would a decent scattering of military personal accomplish? Seems everyone wants a military base these days, so I doubt border states would turn it down.
