I am an electrical engineer who has been asked by a local high school to teach a basic physical science course in the fall. I am looking forward to this because of my own interest in science and technology. I want the course to be interesting and motivating to my students (8-10 total, 9th grade students). What work has been done to make the material interesting to non-technical and technical types? I want to encourage those who are interested in a career in science/math and also help those who are not to see the value of learning the material. The question is, what are some methods of teaching the material (including supplemental material) I could use in the class? How can I transfer my enthusiasm for the material to my students? I would be interested in dialog with anyone who has taught similar courses, especially those who are engineers and have taught science in high school. Charles E.
