I didn't "spoof" anything. You don't even know what > the word means... obviously. Traditional meaning of the term 'spoof' is to dummy your reply address in e-mail such that anyone hitting the reply button will be sending mail somewhere other than back to the sender. Your net post uses a dummy reply address so no one can reply to you via e-mail. > > What I post under is a nym, you retard. It means you connected to the cox.net news server to post your drivel. You could be connecting to the cox.net news server from anywhere in the world. Some news servers are completely open like this, so finding the news server (which I did but knew was irrelevant) does *not* tell me who/where you are. Since you forged the reply address for anonymity, you might have just as easily used a random news server to cover your tracks as well. But since you brought it up, I went to the news.cox.net server and found that it is a closed news server and won't allow connections from outside its domain name. But of course, that isn't really much assurance that your real ISP is cox.net. If you've found a machine in cox.net that you can get into to relay for you, then you could still post via their news server by simply going through the compromised machine. Given that Cox communications provides high speed internet access to several states, the chances of you finding an open system to relay for you is pretty high. Another way to forge access is if you have your own DNS server and domain. By providing a false reverse-lookup for your IP address range, you can fool some systems into believing your domain name is other than what it should be. But this depends on what the news server uses for connection verification (some go by IP address alone). Apparently you know less about hacking, the internet, news servers and security than you would like us believe. But then, considering your attitude, vulgarity, and snobbish behavior, you must be an American. *plonk* daestrom
