In article <0001HW.B9C6E6F901221AB6165FEAC0@news.covad.net>, anon@example.net talked about... [snip] > If I choose to use an LM317 current limiter, do I use this in place of the > dropping resistor, or ...? Note one thing that isn't apparent in ths discussions. The LM317 requires a minimum voltage difference across it to work properly. This is 2V, I believe, as is many other fixed regulators. So if you have 2V across the chip, and 1.25V across the current seetting resistor, that's 3.25V munimum. if you go below this, it may not work. I don't have any experience with this current reg circuit, but with V reg, if you go below th 2V, the chip just drops out of regulation. -- @@F@r@o@m@@O@r@a@n@g@e@@C@o@u@n@t@y@,@@C@a@l@,@@w@h@e@r@e@@ My email address is whitelisted. *All* email sent to it goes directly to the trash unless you put NOSPAM in the Subject: line. alondra101 <at> hotmail.com Don't be ripped off by the big book dealers.
