Thanks for the advice PD and also thanks to Al.

Yes I got a quote on the 21161 kit this today. Its basically US$500..

Mutiple channels should give pretty awesome for my app. and 600MFLOP
should allow higher sampling rates whether I need them or not. Pity
there dosen't appear to be any SP-DIF receivers or transmitters. But
I could probably design a little daugher board to do this .. one
day...

One thing that concerns me is that the evaluation kit is limited to
8kb program size. ie 2048 Words. Should I assume this is going to
be more than enough for my FIR filter implementation?

I wonder, is there separate memory space to store my filter
co-efficients... Because I will probably have nearly 2000 filter
coeficients which wouldn't leave a lot of space for program.

Also I suppose the program must be stored in a low-speed flash memory
anyway, and probably gets loaded by the boot loader or external
micro.. Yes.. I got a lot more research to do.. Hopefully I will be
able to get a soft-copy of the users manual from the AD rep.
Obvioulsy I will study the data sheet.

Thanks agian..
John.
