Kris, You'll need to get specific info for your unit but in general the 14-pin LCD interface is very common. Almost certainly the pins will map to: 8-bit bidirectional data bus 1 bit to enable the module (like CS on a SRAM) 1 bit to indicate whether the processor is reading or writing to the LCD 1 pin for main power to the electronics on the LCD's board 2 pins for ground (or power negative reference) 1 pin for analog voltage to control the contrast on the LCD The important part will be the information content you send over the data bus to tell the LCD's little processor what you want displayed. Look at the OKI data for the chips you mentioned. It might give some hints. Often people design a circuit just like the chip manufacturer's recommended circuit because they can expect it to work with the LCD. If you get the electrical interface right then you can't physically harm the LCD by talking garbage to it. It just won't display what you expect. So you'll be able to mess around a bit and figure out what it wants to hear. Some LCDs have a tight expectation about getting software reset and setup commands after power is turned on. I recommend you read thoroughly somebody's application info even if it's not the one you have, just to see what kinds of things matter.
