Zenith TV Problem

  Hello,

I just wanted to post this question to see if anybody with
experience with Zenith TV's might have any hints. I did buy
the SAMS sheet for the set and I will do an in depth troubleshoot
in a couple of weeks. I am a student living in the dorm at
     Florida State.

     Zenith Model A1936P - System 3
I got this set which started taking time to warm up. Now it doesn't
work at all. It makes a loud buzzing noise and creates sparks from
the ground "feelers" that touch the top right corner of the tube. Those
feelers connect via a wire to the PC board socketed to the back of the
tube. This wire/trace appears to be connected to the chassis, however
this set DOESN'T have a chassis connection on the plug. Could this
be the shutdown circuit being active? I don't leave the set on for
long and it leaves an ozone kind of smell. My only guess is that it
     is the high voltage/sweep module.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

  Dru
