A means of detecting adverts that I saw proposed a few years back was to examine
the mean volume and dynamic range of the sound, the sound track of an advert
is usually compressed and the mean volume is raised. Thus an advert sounds
louder than the surrounding program. I never saw a published circuit though.
I have the circuit for a `DJ killer' that produced a signal when a music
changed to speech.
