SCA radio kits

Hi,

I used to enjoy listening to SCA late at night while absorbed
in some design project at work. And because of that, I wish that
I had an SCA receiver at home. In the aug/sep 1987 radio-electronics,
there is a SCA kit description, $77.50. Also, I have an old catalog
from the Octe electronics company, with some SCA kits. The question
is, has any one out there built any of these kits? And if so, what
is the quality of the received signal?
