Guitar pedals

I'm interested in building my own pedals (Wah-Wah, Distortion, etc) for my
electric guitar. However, I have no idea where to begin. Does anyone know of a
book that would have some schematics, or does any one have any schematics they
could copy and send to me. I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper to build your
own, than to pay $50-$150 for a pedal in the music stores.

Thanks
