Thanks to all those who replied to my query about nixie tube sources.  Sounds
like there are many out there with fond memories of the soft orange glow and 
hypnotic "marching" activity of those old neon tubes.  We ordered a couple
from an outfit called Richardson Electronics on the recommendation of another
vendor of obsolete and hard-to-find parts, Rochester Electronics.
