Even better is Don Lancaster's column in the February 1991
Radio-Electronics. He has a list of 13 references. Although
it does lack the pretty graphs in the January 1991 Scientific American
Science and the Citizen column.

He recommends

"A New Wave in Applied Mathematics", B. Cipra, Science 24 Aug 1990

"New Wave Number Crunching", C. Brown, E.E. Times 5 Nov 1990
