Laser Speed Traps

There's been some talk about Laser Speeding traps. Detectors for Radar
give the user enough time (normally) to react and slow down.
The Army uses similiar equipment in their tanks (LRS- Laser Rangefinding Sys)
and believe me, it's *very* accurate, besides being atroshiously quick
and has a range of over 2 miles.
There's one catch;
The circuitry involved with laser "doppler" requires a reflective video
signal. The circuitry uses the time and signal strength as an effective
judgement of range. The rate of range change per division of time gives
the effective speed. Now...for all of you deviant rocket sled drivers,
a very effective way to thwart such measurements against your shiny
capsule of velocity is to employ a simple device.
A 7-foot free-spinning chrome-plated windmill blade mounted directly
in front of the car would definiately give the receiving circuits a
seizure. Failing that, I suggest either spending lotsa $$$ making a
super-fast Laser Beam detector and hook that into a "warm" modulated
laser gun and bounce the Kaper Kops some weird beams....or

SLOW DOWN. [:o-

Of course, imprinting a holographic image of Donald Duck all over the front
of your vehicle would probably give the cops something to laugh at
through their "scope".
