Wonham also wrote a sort of recent article in Control Systems Magazine, IEEE,
about the general future of control. His writing is entertaining and he
makes use of many quotes from diverse sources, some in the original Greek.
(Much opportunity for bad pun jokes here which I will forego fornow.)
His style and sense of humor may make him not such a scary guy,
though he may be very busy.
The book is: Linear Multivariable Control, #3 of the Springer Verlag
Applications of Mathematics series.
I'm too dumb to understand the book just yet, so maybe some knowledgeable
netter can post here the basic idea of Wonham's methods and how they have
progressed up to the present day?
