I don't think so.  Or at least I hope not.  Deming had the same problem
preaching continuous process improvement.  He went to Japan after WWII
and turned the country around with his philosophy.  He couldn't get
American industry to give him the time of day.  Now that we see what
his philosophy can do, we are grudgingly trying to apply his principles
in America.

The problem is more of a cultural difference.  To the Japanese, the concept
of fuzzy logic fits perfectly into their way of thinking.  To the Americans,
fuzzy logic sounds like some half-baked scam to sell more computer chips.  I
should say average Americans.  There is some hope of getting fuzzy logic to
take hold in the US with so many of us techno-geeks trying it.  In Japan,
appliances, cars, etc. that make use of fuzzy logic, freely advertise that
the product uses fuzzy logic - it's one of the selling points.  In the US, we're
going to have to disguise the fuzzy logic part of the product until the 
notion gains acceptance.
