Here's some benchmark times for fractint 17.2
System: 486/50dx, 256K cache, 4M memory, DR-Dos 6.0
Tseng-4000 SVGA with Local Bus
All options left at default settings, except where noted.
Mandelbrot set: 1024x768x256 1920x1440x256 (using EMS)
floating point off 6.97 51.85
floating point on 8.85 57.34
Type NYUF008 (from the fractint.par file) in 1024x768x256 1:12.99
Plasma file, 1024x768x256, seed 42
Old method 22.19
New method 19.34
Translate above plasma file to a 3D image using all defaults
Landscape, surface fill interpolated: 1:33.70
Spherical, surface fill interpolated: 1:36.84
Lypanov type, 320x200x256
Order 0 3:16.46
1 4:47.63
2 6:18.65
5 7:50.05
10 9:21.07
42 12:24.64
Julibrot type, all defaults
320x200x256 3:30.31
1024x768x256 41:24.18
